DGPC through its Office of the Company Secretary and General Counsel in collaboration with the Human Resource Division, successfully conducted a four-day training on FIDIC Contracts and Contract Management from April 14–17 at Jambayang Resort, Thimphu.
The training was attended by 28 participants from DGPC corporate office, power plants and subsidiary companies. The resource person for the program was Mr. Prashant K Thakur from Lex Certitude, India, a lawyer with over 20 years of experience in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and international contracts in the power and construction sectors.
The program aimed to enhance understanding of FIDIC contract models widely used in global infrastructure projects. Key areas included the Red, Yellow, and Silver Books, with focus on risk allocation, claims, dispute resolution, and contract lifecycle management.
Interactive sessions, comparative studies of FIDIC editions, and mock exercises provided practical insights. The training concluded with certificate distribution and closing remarks, reinforcing DGPC’s commitment to strengthening professional capacity and contract governance.
